Day 30
There was another boat coming towards us. I thought that it was Mum and Dad's boat but it was too big to be theirs. Inmy astonishment, they were pirates. Some of them jumped onto our deck. I knew that the smugglers and sailors were abandoning us. The pirates were looking for girls who were out of doors without their parents; they are as bad as the government. The pirate saw my soccer ball and wanted to give it a slight kick but my leg responded so fast that i slid it to one side and the pirate fell down. He was furious and gave me a kick in the hip. I felt a pain seared through me. I was anxious as i scared that he would take Bibi away although i was in pain. The pirates were gone.
Day 31
I dreamt that i was the Dubbo Abattoirs United and i was dribbling the ball. I also dreamt that Mum and Dad were smiling among the spectators. Soon. i woke up and Bibi was clutching onto me. I saw a huge wave crashing down onto us. I was shcoked.
Day 32
I could not find Rashida and Omar. Bibi and I were sticked together due to our belts and we were starving. We were drained out and i thought that Bibi, as a female, could not keep this going this long. They didn't understand how she could do it but i knew how; her father was a baker.
Day33
Some people on the deck were yelling and screaming. They sounded terrified. I did not dare to see what was happeneing but i found out that Rashida was alive. Towering over us, there was a warship, Some of the guns were longer than our whole boat and there were machine guns pointing at us. I recognised the warship's flag, it was the Australians'. I was so happy that i told Bibi and Rashida the good news. They had come to rescue us.
Day34
I was on cloud nine when i saw Andrew. Andrew touched Bibi's forehead and noticed that her fever was gone. Andrew gave us some food as we seemed to be very hungry. I was grateful to him. Andrew felt sorry and i was curious why he felt that way. I asked him if anything had happened to my Mum and Dad but he declined. He said that their boat must had taken a different route. Rashida was a bit dehydrated and she was being attended then. Andrew looked abit puzzled when he left me to eat alone. I wondered what he was thinking.
Day 35
We were almost in Australia. We still could not see Mum and Dad's boat. Andrew was over-protective than Mum as he shouted at us not to lean out too far. Andrew promised me that he would be able to find Mum and Dad's boat soon. Finally, Andrew welcomed us to our new home: a dusty compound. I noticed that Andrew was giving me a strange look. I though that Mum and Dad could be sitting shipwrecked on a remote island. I was extremely grateful towards Andrew.

Day 29
Rashida seemed to have a fever. It was the sixth day on the boat. I almost forgot that it was Bibi's birthday. I apologised to her for forgetting her birthday. I told her that we would organise a birthday party for her once we reached Australia. Rashida said that her uncles were all dead on the day she was born. I felt sad for her as she was reminded of her uncles and grandparents' deaths. I felt sad as i recalled of my uncles and grandparents .

Day 26
The nasty smuggler had been asleep while the other three smugglers crowded around me shining their torches fascinated by what i was doing. I wanted to cook this bread quickly as i was scared that Bibi would be scared as i was not beside her the moment she woke up. The sailors were getting impatient as they were hungry and wanted to eat my bread. I was grateful that Rashida had brought flour along in cased of emergency.
Day 27
Omar praised me as he ate my bread. The waves are getting bigger as i felt seasick. Rashida said that seasick would only be wore off after a day. Some of the people on the boat were worse than me as they were groaning in pain. I wanted to go Australia so much as it was a good country with laughing people and good government.
Day 28
The engine had stopped. The three smugglers began to stand in front of their cabin with sailors behind them. The chief smuggler said that the price of going to the Australia was wrong as we had to pay 100 dollars more. The smugglers asked us to pay the full price or they threatened to turn back. Omar told me anxiously that he did not have any money to pay for the full price. Just then, it was our turn to pay for the trip. Rashida took out her watch which her father gave her to the smuggler and said that it was for the prices of four people. We were extremely grateful of Rashida.

Day 21
Bibi tried to retrieve the ball but i insisted her not to. We would lose Mum and Dad if she did that. Omar decided to help us retrieve the ball but he dropped into the water. I begged the smuggler in yellow overalls to help him but he ignored me. Bibi was so angry that she bit and hugged his legs. The man threw Bibi over his shoulder.I was shocked.
Day 22
I stared down at the churning water. I could not see her. I could only see shadows and bubbles. Suddenly, there was someone pulling me. I noticed that Bibi was back on the boat with me. Surprisingly, I saw Mum and Dad, i begged to ask the boat to come back. I was panicking.
Day 23
I bolted to look for a smuggler to help us. We wanted so much to ask the captain to let us board another boat as we boarded the wrong one. However, the sailor refused and Bibi sweared at him; she tried to attack her but i defended the attack. The smuggler said that they didn't have any radar or radio. He asked us to keep quiet or we would be thrown out of the boat. Bibi cried as she wanted Mum and Dad desperately. Omar came and sat beside me.
Day 24
I did not feel hungry as the diesel engine took my appetite away. I was scared that the smuggler in yellow outfit would not give us food if he saw her. Suddenly, flame shot up and there was a gas canister right next to the burning blanket. A teenage girl bolted to distinguish the fire and she had black stuff on her eyelashes and her lips were green. The sailor accused us of starting the fire. We were not given food and Rashida, the teenage girl, said that they might not wash their hands before they opened the soup packet. I liked her within a moment.
Day 25
Rashida said that she got her name after her brother had died as her parents named her so. Omar was backed from leaning over the side. We were glad to meet Rashida and Omar said that his sister was very nice too. We ignored him. I picked up my football and Omar claimed that it was hos. Bibi and I started to do some football tricks and Rashida said that we were sunburnt. Omar claimed that he was too as she gave us a bottle of sun protection cream; she said that Omar was full of dirt and not sunburnt. I noticed something in Rashida's bag: Flour

Day 17
I was extremely afraid that the police would arrest my father. Mom wasn't covering her face in outdoors now as i thought that this wasn't the time to worry about not dressing properly. I realised that Dad was actually trying to bribe the police in order for them not to catch him. I felt that Dad hadn't got any more money. Now the police were gone, but they might come back anytime to arrest Dad. I felt tensed and worried. My parents told me that we would be moving to Australia in a few days' time.
Day 18
As we alighted from the bus, Dad asked the driver if he was coming too but he said that Dad would be met at the end of the flight and taken to the boat. Boat? That was the first time i crossed over this word. I guessed that Australia didn't have a lot of airports. Suddenly, there were some men checking our bags for any metal objects as metal objects are forbidden beyond this area. I was scared that they discovered our candlestick which we had kept in this for a long time.
Day 19
The plane was taking off and we should be excited for our first flight as we were safe and together. However, we were not. I noticed that we were safe in this plane as the firearms were hidden in the secret compartments but i was wrong. This was a passenger plane and there weren't any firearms. Now that we did not have the candlestick with us, we had to look out for one another.
Day 20
Dad reassured me that we were away from the government for a long distance and we did not have to worry. Bibi and i were impatient and wanted to know immediately which boat was ours. I thought that every passengers had paid for this trip and as long as we gave the tickets to the smugglers, they would not leave us here. Suddenly i saw the boy; the boy who tried to steal my ball in the camp. He was trying to tackle me while he said that the ball was his. The naive boy said that he would give us the ball if Bibi would be willing to be his girlfriend. Bibi was furious and ran against the boy and kicked him hardly. The boy tried to grab the ball but Bibi gave the ball a hard kick and it flew across and landed into the water.

Day 15
I have been cracking my brains to help to find where how to get to Australia together with Dad. Refugee camps are rare to find children. Suddenly, a boy asked me if i wanted to buy some water. He had a gloomy face and with a plastic bottle. I declined. He kept trying to coax me into buying it, which cost only 50 cents. I asked him if he wanted to play, he nodded, so i passed the ball to him. He ran away with it, i was dumbfounded. I chased after him and finally, he dropped my ball and ran away. I'm tempted to catch that kid. I thought that those people at the spot were sick but i was wrong, they were actually hungry, waiting for a food shipment as the guy in the truck told me. Someone sitting behind the truck with yellow hair told me that Australia was the best country in the world. He must be Australian. I was excited. He said that government in Australia encouraged girls to play soccer. I was amazed.
Day 16
I was lost. Just then, i thought of an idea. If i made some bread, Dad would be able to smell it about fifty kilometres away as it was in his blood, he could sense it. I just need flour, water, salt and an oven. Soon, the 'thief' came up to me and said that he could bring me to my parents just for a dollar. Howver, i did not have one. Thus, he wanted my ball and i was shocked. I would not give him for sure. Fortunately, the boy pulled me out of the camp and dragging me to a car. I could not believe my luck as they can help me find my family and even tell us how to get to Australia. However the gloomy kid let go of my hand and nudged through the crowd. I tried to follow but failed. Then, i tried to do football skills and yelled at the crowd telling them not to push by attracting their attention. They did not hear me. I tried to look for him but to no avail. I started to look for a place to build a bread oven. Finally, i saw it, it was our tent with Mum and Bibi with anxious faces. There was something happening that made me panic, it was the police surrounding around Dad.
